Sony, FOAM CITY

April 15, 2008

Sony has released yet another version of their succesful, Stuff in Slow Motion series.
First came ‘Balls‘. Then ‘Paint‘. Then ‘Bunnies‘. Now we have ‘Foam’, directed by Simon Ratiga of HLA Films:

Between these spots and the recent Schweppes work, the whole slow-mo pretty spot is getting a little tiring.

I prefer my foam spots with a poodle in it:

BMW Films rises anew…

April 11, 2008

Frankly, you shouldn’t be in advertising if you haven’t at least heard of BMW Films… These brilliant short films were created in 2001 and 2002 by Fallon Worldwide and production company, Anonymous Content. Fallon turned to Anonymous and David Fincher (director of Fight Club, Zodiac) to produce a series of 8 mini action movies that highlight the various performance aspects of the BMW line of vehicles. Each short film starred Clive Owen as “The Driver”, a courier who gets hired by various people to be a sort of transport for their vital needs. To direct and write these stories, the producers turned to Hollywood’s most talented up and comers including Joe Carnahan (NARC, Smoking Aces), Tony Scott (Spy Game, Man on Fire), John Woo (Face Off, Hardboiled) and Guy Richie (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch)

You can view the first film here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vo5cZhfsP2Y

Well, they are at it again with “Rampenfest”. This is a documentary about the eccentric little German town of Oberpfaffelbachen, whose citizenry are determined that their idea to introduce the new BMW 1 series to America will give their town international recognition. Check out the link below.
